We are pleased to announce the availability of the Wakanda Live release. This release is a stable version that passed a high level of testing from our QA department, with a level of quality suitable for wide distribution and use by end users.

This version ensures that developers can safely get a head start in their development by building deployment-ready applications with Wakanda today.

The Wakanda Live release is available for download on our downloads page, http://wakanda.org/downloads

Build an App in 30 Minutes – Space is limited!
Dave Robbins
Are you familiar with to-do list applications like "Don't forget the Milk" and "Ta da List" that you find around the Web as sample apps? Well, I can show you how to build a live, secure, multi-user app like these in just 30 minutes, using only JavaScript and one tool.

In our next Wakanda webinar we'll build a secure, multi-user to-do List from scratch. You'll see all the parts of Wakanda Studio, Directory, Model Editor and the Page Editor. We'll write JavaScript on both the server side and on the client side. Please join us!
This is the perfect tutorial. It quickly demonstrates some key parts of Wakanda that I can use in my applications.

JS.everywhere(2012) and Wakanday 2012 - Calling All Speakers!
Laurent Ribardière, Wakanday

Over 300 attendees from the JavaScript and business app development community joined us for the first Wakanday/JS.everywhere() conference in Boston last year, and it was so successful, we’ve given each side of the conference its own full day, with JS.everywhere(2012) taking place on October 26, and Wakanday on October 27, in the heart of Silicon Valley, California.

More details will be announced soon, and in the meantime, we welcome Wakanda experts and enthusiasts of all levels to propose a session/workshop for Wakanday. Perhaps you’re an ace at creating your own widgets. Or maybe your interest lies in security. You might even have an uncanny ability to integrate many JavaScript frameworks together to do exactly what you want.

Here’s your chance to share your knowledge with hundreds of other enthusiasts.  To propose a session, visit our Call to Speakers page.

Registration details will be forthcoming, but know that your registration for Wakanday will give you admission to both days of JavaScript magic, including JS.everywhere(2012). See you in California!

Come see us: Wakanda Down Under & Beyond

Wakanda was presented at the 4D Australasian Developers Conference in Sydney, Australia earlier this month. We showed off how you can simply “Declare and Bind” to get your data and populate your widgets, and the audience marveled at recursivity, inheritance, NN relation, and more... And let’s not forget the always impressive Super Matrix! In addition to chocolates and Wakanda baseball caps, attendees were treated to seeing a complete application (including security access) built in less than 15 minutes!

UK
Last month we told you about our presence at the upcoming Source 2012 conference, May 2-5 in London, England.

USA
Stateside, you won’t want to miss Wakanda at the O’Reilly Fluent conference, showcasing the world’s most important Web technologies under the theme of “JavaScript and Beyond.”

Germany
May will be a busy month for us, as we’ll also be present at NoSQL Matters 2012 in Cologne, Germany.  Our very own Alexandre Morgaut will be presenting on the topoic of “NoSQL for Model-Driven Web Applications.” Come say “guten Tag!”

From the Blog...

Wakanda's Thibaud Arguillère has written a blog post about beautifying your code. In his quirky, charming manner, he goes over some basic code examples and how they can be cleaned up for increased readability using some nifty plug-ins that are included with Wakanda. Read "My Code is Beau!"

Over in the Community Video Playlist, we've added new videos on building a small Date Picker, Dave Robbins' video on How to Reference Datasources from a Component, and the very useful Public-Facing Accounts/User Registration demo. Check them out now!
