4D

The first production release of Wakanda is in its final stages of development. We released the public beta in mid-December, with several beta builds issued since, each one getting better and coming closer to the next level.

None of this has been possible without your feedback, so we thank you, and we encourage you to continue testing Wakanda and reporting your issues, as well as asking your questions and telling us what you like on the Wakanda Forum. This growing community of developers and JavaScript enthusiasts is getting more active every day, and we’re pleased to see how everyone is planning on making use of the all-new platform.

Community Video Playlist

As mentioned above, we’re pleased by how much people are taking to Wakanda. We’re not even in production yet, but people have already started creating their own tutorial videos and to show off what they’re doing.

To make sure these videos get the plays they deserve, we’ve created a page to share them with you.

See the community video playlist for content created by you, for you, and in the topics that interest you, the Wakanda community.

Check it out now and view user-created videos on topics like creating a Wakanda login scheme without components or a JavaScript dynamic table.

Wakanda simplifies one of the most complex aspects - connecting to and managing data. With Wakanda, it just works.

White paper: Blending Traditional Productivity with Modern Web Architecture

Have you checked out the white paper about Wakanda?

IDC recently concluded that Wakanda allows developers “to bring modern Web applications to life in a more productive manner than they likely ever have before.”

We don't think they we could've said it any better!

Upcoming Events

Members of the team often show up at events involving Wakanda and JavaScript and app development in general. These events provide a good opportunity to get a close look at the relevant technologies, as well as meet and chat with some of the Wakanda team. Here’s where we’ll be in the near future:

JSConf takes place in Scottsdale, Arizona, this April. Beyond being a JavaScript conference, it’s a social gathering with plenty of side events and even activities for significant others. We plan on being there to see the rising stars of JavaScript, and so should you! The event often sells out quickly, so to stay on top of availability, we advise following @jsconf on Twitter.

Technical book publisher O’Reilly is getting into the JavaScript act with Fluent 2012: JavaScript and Beyond. It’ll be happening May 29-31 in San Francisco, California. O’Reilly was a sponsor of Wakanday 2011 in Boston, and we’re excited that they’re putting together an event of their own, chaired by the likes of Peter Cooper (JavaScript Weekly), Brady Forest (O’Reilly Radar), Rey Bango (Microsoft), and Paul Irish & Steve Souders (Google).

Webinar - “Introduction to Wakanda”

We recently held a webinar hosted by Dave Robbins, introducing people to the Wakanda platform. We had so many sign-ups that we had to increase the capacity for future webinars! In the meantime we’ve recorded the presentation and put it online for you to watch: Introduction to Wakanda

For those who parle français, Thibaud Arguillère hosted a Webinar in French on January 24. You may watch the video for this session, which will be available on this page shortly.

Want to see it live? We’ll be doing more webinars in the future. To stay on top of the dates for these webinars and all other events, be sure to follow @wakandasoft on Twitter or via other social media outlets.
