Manipulate data with pure server-side JavaScript code – no SQL, no ORM – on a live application beta!

We've put up a new beta application that we call Play which allows you to execute SSJS code directly from your browser. A Wakanda Server has been deployed on the Amazon Cloud, running an application with 1,000,000 data objects that you can access and manipulate quickly and easily.

To really show the robustness of the server, we've advertised this app to the 25,000 subscribers of JavaScript Weekly, who have already begun playing with the app.

Try it for yourself and see a rapid app with plenty of data looks like – live – and share your experience in the comment section of the app!

Wakanda Server Coding by Hand

Wakanda Server CodingAs a follow-up to the live app above, our Developer Advocate Lyle Troxell has written a blog post about how to hand code server-side JavaScript on Wakanda Server.

In addition, he has created a screencast to walk you through the process. The demo used for the screencast is furthermore available on GitHub, including links to the latest build of Wakanda used to make it work.

Read the post and view the screencast now.
